Lewes

Keere StreetLewes has a castle, lots of old buildings, narrow streets and alleyways (locally called Twittens). There’s loads of history, great pubs and restaurants, music and art, two cinemas, theatres and markets.

Glyndebourne, the world-famous and wonderful opera venue, is close by.

Lewes is also famous for its wild and extravagant Bonfire Night celebrations.

If you want to explore the area, Lewes and the nearby towns and villages offer a wealth of things to do and see, whatever your interest. There’s lots more information on the Lewes Tourist Information website.

Oh, and Brighton is but a short and easy direct train or bus ride away. You can drive there but traffic and parking are difficult.

We hope you enjoy your stay in our bed and breakfast here in Lewes.
